The Headmaster
Welcome to Old Swinford Hospital, or OSH for short. Rated ‘Outstanding for boarding’ by Ofsted and bringing together boarders and day students within its community, OSH prides itself on offering a unique educational experience where learning doesn’t end at the afternoon school bell. We are a community of many parts where we encourage each student to be themselves, and also to make their own contribution to it. Diversity of life is embraced, and learning to live – not simply work – alongside one another is a life skill that cannot be underestimated.

OSH Sixth Formers celebrate the strongest results in recent history!
Year 13 have much to celebrate as 29% of all A level grades are at A or A*, which is above regional and national levels! The Maths Department has done particularly well with 43% of all grades at A*/A and 75% for Further Maths. Geographers and Computer Scientists are also celebrating as 40% and 36% respectively of all grades are also at A*/A. Plus, with 19 subjects achieving a 100% pass-rate (including A level Arabic and Russian, and the EPQ), the Class of 2026 have achieved the school’s strongest results since the A level reforms in 2015!
