Physics Trip to the University of Birmingham

On 13 November, Year 12 physicists were lucky to attend a visit to the University of Birmingham's School of Physics and Astronomy.

While there, students had the opportunity to see cutting-edge research taking place, visit two world-class particle accelerators and see superconductors in action!  On top of this, they saw the undergraduate labs to get a sense of what it's like to study physics and visited the Poynting Museum to see some very old-school equipment!

Our students came away from the day having learned what it's like to be a physicist and feeling inspired to consider studying physics at university.  We are very grateful to Dr. Coak and Dr. Bishop for their time, expertise and warm welcome!
