With more than 150 students performing, the annual Michaelmas Concert was a delight!
Musicians and choristers alike performed admirably to a packed house of friends and family. The Orchestra delighted with a rhythmically driven Pirates of the Caribbean Suite, and Guitar Ensemble paid homage to Ed Sheeran with a rendition of Bad Habits. String Ensemble continue to thrive under the stewardship of Mrs. French, performing three varied pieces with excellent intonation and articulation.
It was a great to also welcome Mr. Powell’s newly formed Percussion Ensemble to the event, mastering the delivery of some highly challenging polyrhythms.
The full Michaelmas Concert Programme was:
- Guitar Ensemble, Bad Habits by Ed Sheeran and Beat It by Michael Jackson
- Brass Band, Winter Wonderland by Felix Bernard and Jingle Bell Rock by James Lord Pierpont
- String Quartet, Minuet from the Royal Fireworks Suite by Handel; Jingle Bells Arranged by Andrew Balent; and Nightflight by I. McKenzie
