LAMDA Summer Performance

Last week saw OSH's first LAMDA Showcase evening where several students performed works they have been practising for many months.  Kartar in Year 7 tells us more...

The LAMDA showcase was a great evening to showcase a range of talented students from across all years.  From musical theatre songs about love to verses about losing your nose it was a jam-packed adventure that was thoroughly enjoyed.

The night was a chance for students like me to show what they had learnt for their parents, guardians, family, friends and teachers.  We usually learn a piece then show it at an exam and never perform it again, however this showcase let us show what we can do.  It was a chance to celebrate all our achievements.

The performances themselves were stunning.  They were engaging and emotional.  The performers made you feel like you were in a completely different world.  The audience went on a rollercoaster that went on for an hour!  The pieces made you feel connected to the characters like you had known them for so long.  The verses performed by Year 7’s were humorous and made everyone laugh.  The songs made have goosebumps and the monologues made your body shiver.

The LAMDA showcase was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to see what LAMDA can do to the school in the future.
