We are delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for the construction of a new Reception Centre and Sports Changing Facilities.

Marking another significant investment in the school's estate and future development, the new building will provide a welcoming main reception for pupils, parents, staff and visitors, alongside modern changing accommodation designed to support the school's extensive sporting programme.  The development has been carefully designed to enhance the arrival experience while providing high-quality facilities that meet the needs of the school community for many years to come.

The new reception pavilion will comprise a spacious reception area, marketing and meeting room, reprographics facilities, IT and communications room, kitchenette, accessible WCs, equipment storage and dedicated changing rooms.

Construction is expected to commence in Autumn 2026, with completion anticipated during 2027.

Paul Kilbride, Headmaster of Old Swinford Hospital said:

"We are pleased to have secured planning approval for this important development, which represents a significant investment in the future of Old Swinford Hospital.  The new Reception Centre will provide a modern and welcoming entrance to the school, while the new changing facilities will further enhance our sporting provision and improve the experience for pupils, staff and visitors alike.  We look forward to works commencing later this year and to seeing the project completed in 2027."
