Fees

As a state boarding school, we are able to provide an environment which offers similar advantages to a private boarding education, at a fraction of the cost.  Our fees are not subject to VAT.

This is because the UK government pays tuition fees for pupils, therefore there is no cost for education at OSH.  The fees we set cover boarding activities.  Boarding fees are classed as a non-business activity, VAT is not chargeable.

Visitors often comment that our facilities surpass those of many independent schools, and we are able to attract staff with academic pedigree, rounded interests and a genuine commitment to boarding as a result.

Our fees for the academic year 2024/25 are:
  Per term Per annum
Tailored Boarders (Years 7 – 13) £4,440 £13,320
Flexi-Boarders (Years 7 – 13) £2,220 £6,660

Fees are reviewed annually and published by the start of the Summer Term for the following September.

Forces Families

If you are entitled to claim the Forces’ Boarding Schools Allowance (Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA)) you will be pleased to know that our school is on the approved list. Please note that Forces children could also be eligible for three free return journeys a year to visit their parents serving on accompanied tours overseas. OSH has much experience in the education of children from a Forces background. Indeed, the Headmaster went to a British Army School himself.
