The Sixth Form at OSH provides a fantastic opportunity for our older students to flourish and develop on an academic and personal level.
Whether you're in the process of choosing their subjects, looking for guidance as they work through their courses or seeking advice about taking that next big step, we’re here for our students. Our experienced team is fully committed to providing them with all the support they need, which is why we help them to reach and exceed expectations and to discover who you can be.
Boarding in the Sixth Form acts as a bridge between school and university or the world of work. Not only will you have extended study support and access to further enrichment activities outside of the school day, you will also grow in confidence and resilience as you learn to live independently.
We provide a springboard for all our students, whatever the journey ahead. So whether they dream of Medicine at Oxford, Art Foundation, apprenticeships, internships or a gap year, we’ll be backing them every step of the way. Here, tailored study support exists alongside UCAS and careers guidance.
Our curriculum, co-curriculum, pastoral care and our expectations are all shaped with an eye on their point of departure, so that when they leave us, they are ready to make their impact in the wider world, having made friends for life.
Entry requirements
All applicants who are offered a place must achieve the minimum grade requirement of GCSE Grade 5 or above in at least six subjects, including Maths and English (or an agreed equivalent for those who did not sit GCSEs). Specific subjects will also have minimum grade requirements which must be achieved. Details of all subject-specific requirements are outlined in the prospectus.
Given that A level is a considerable step up from GCSE, we encourage A level students to choose subjects in which they achieved a minimum Grade of 6 at GCSE. We also expect students to have completed a fair amount of preparation in the summer before they start the courses. Recommendations of preparatory work are detailed in the Welcome Pack students receive prior to joining us.
