The Old Foleyans’ Association (OFA) committee has elected Professor David Walker as the new President.
Former pupils of Old Swinford Hospital are able to join the OFA and receive a range of membership benefits.
Professor Walker attended Old Swinford Hospital for seven years. He holds degrees from the University of London and University of Birmingham as well as a Doctorate from Aston University Business School. He currently works at the University of Birmingham and holds a number of professional Fellowships. He has served on the OFA committee for 30 years and was previously the Vice-President.
His predecessor Maurice Evans had served on the Committee for over 50 years having being president for a number of years. Tribute to his unique service have come from Association members both nationally and internationally.
Paul Kilbride Headmaster of Old Swinford Hospital, commented ‘The Old Foleyans’ Association plays an important role in the School community. This year the School celebrates its 350th anniversary and I shall look forward to working with the OFA to connect with former pupils, and further strengthening the Schools links as a historic educational institution providing secondary and sixth form opportunities.
