Terrific Performance from OSH 1st XI Hockey Team

March 9th, 2017

Congratulations to the OSH 1st XI Hockey Team on an excellent away win against a strong and talented Ellesmere College 1st XI.

Ellesmere dominated early possession and played some elegant hockey, but OSH managed to contain over the opening minutes of the first quarter and scored with their very first attack.  Further quick, incisive attacking plays resulted in a 4-1 lead at the first break.

It was an even affair in the second quarter at half time with OSH ahead 5-2.  Ivan Chan was in imperious form when called upon in the OSH goal.  From that point on, OSH took complete control of the game.

The side played at an incredibly high intensity and the fitness of James Yapp and his fellow defenders gave the midfield confidence to create whenever OSH attacked. Our goals came from usual suspects Dan Dew with a hat-trick, James Foggensteiner (2), Ethan Dunbar-Baker (2), Saad Qadri, Alistair Armstrong and John Luke Boyce with a rare strike.  This was a terrific performance from a side totally committed to the cause and in truly fine form.

Ellesmere College 1st XI – 3, OSH 1st XI – 10
