OSH Mum of two Pam Batta is preparing for an epic journey to India in memory of her father and to raise money for vulnerable children.
Pam had planned to do the journey with her father, Tarsem Lal, but tragically he died suddenly in 2016 before he could embark on the trip. However, nearly six months on, Pam has decided to make the monumental journey alone and will spend seven weeks touring India from Kashmir in the North to Kanya Kumari, India’s southernmost tip.
After watching the film ‘Lion’, Pam (Mum to Nayan Year 7 and Shaam Year 10) was inspired to help Indian railway children, whose plight is highlighted in the film. With the support of friends and family, Pam has raised over £2000 for www.railwaychildren.org, a charity helping vulnerable children in India, Africa and the UK.
Prospect House are soon to organise a raffle and several OSH Mums have hosted charity Curry Suppers and Afternoon Tea events.
