£6500 Raised for Indian Street Children

March 23rd, 2017

Six months ago, OSH mum Pam Batta was planning a tour of northern India with her father.  She couldn’t have anticipated that soon after that plan was made, her father would suddenly die in September 2016.  In his memory and to help her better understand the country he loved, Pam has decided to make the journey alone.

Tomorrow (24th March), Pam begins her seven week passage to India, travelling from Kashmir in the north to Kanya Kumari, India’s southernmost tip.

She has raised nearly £4000 in total for www.railwaychildren.org.  In addition she has raised a further £2500 from hosting curry suppers and raffles with which she has bought clothing, footwear, blankets and coir matting to distribute to street children.

Prospect House raised over £170 with two prize draw raffles; one to win gifts for the boys and another to win a Mother’s Day gift.

If you’ve been inspired by Pam’s story, there is still time to donate to her online fundraising page www.virginmoneygiving.com/PamBatta
