Old Swinford Hospital hosted a Year 10 Maths Feast event on 31 January. The event was run by the Further Mathematics Support Programme and was a challenging team competition testing mathematical, team-working and communication skills.
The two OSH teams did very well in all the rounds, where working as a team was just as important as the mathematics. Congratulations to OSH Team Two for winning the Countdown Challenge.
Well done to all the teams who took part – OSH, Pedmore PTC, The Hillcrest School and King Edward VI Five Ways – who were the overall winners.
Mrs Julia Treen, Teacher of Mathematics, said “This is the first time that students at OSH have taken part in this national maths challenge. It has been beneficial for them to use their maths skills in such a practical and entertaining way. We look forward to taking part in further competitions.”
