Talented artist Kelvin Coker will have a piece of his art work exhibited at Worcester Cathedral. The exhibition is part of a series of events to mark the 800th anniversary in 2016 of King John’s death and his burial in Worcester Cathedral.
Kelvin, aged 12, is a full boarder at OSH. His painting will form part of the King John Portrait Competition Exhibition at Worcester Cathedral from 11-27 October. The final winners will be announced on 18th October and Kelvin could win up to £75 of Great Art vouchers.
Commenting on his achievement, OSH Head of Art Mrs Emily Pincher said: “I’m really proud of Kelvin for deciding to enter the competition and that his work has been selected. Kelvin made the piece during Art Club, which is one of the many co-curricular activities available at the School.”
“I am exciting to see how far I can go in the competition, said Kelvin. “My work comprises of a painting and a 3D mask. You can see different images of King John through the eyes of the mask and I have even included an image of the Magna Carta.”
