Exciting Work Experience Opportunity for Budding Chef

Nico Hobmaier (who can be seen on the OSH website) has secured a wonderful opportunity for one week’s work experience at Hotel Du Vin Birmingham.

Nico will be based in ‘Meetings and Events’ but will have exposure to all areas of the hotel from housekeeping, Bistro and kitchens, through to event management.    He will be under the watchful eye of Operations Manager Arron Wincott who said:  “At the end of the week, Nico will have a better understanding of the hotel industry and a feel for the level of service and standard people expect at Hotel Du Vin.”

Currently in Year 10 at OSH, Nico is studying for his GCSEs.  In addition to the core subjects, Nico will be taking Business Studies, German and Catering to add to the French A* he achieved last year.

Commenting on his placement Nico said:  “I am currently exploring my future career options, but know that food will be involved somewhere.   It will be really interesting to work in a boutique hotel and hopefully I will then have a clearer idea of what route to take and the jobs available.”

Nico is an international boarder at OSH, who credits his German father for inspiring him with a love of food.
