Keep the Faith

April 22nd, 2016

This year OSH once again hosted the Faith and Philosophies Forum.  The school was able to welcome a number of religious leaders from the Hindu, Christian and Muslim communities.

Pupils in Years 8 and 9 shared their views and beliefs on religion to their peers and the invited guests.  Some of the presentations covered Sikhism, Christianity, Taoism and religion in Spain.

Pupils in Year 9 were able to debate a variety of topics with the religious leaders that included:

  • What place, if at all, does faith and philosophy have in the life of young people?
  • What are your concerns about the world today?
  • How can OSH and the local community improve your connection and understanding of the world today?

Emma Weyman of the Saltmine Theatre Company commented ” I am impressed that children of such a young age are able to present their religious  view points and express their opinions of faith clearly.”
