In just a few hours Huw Taylor and Sam Ripper-Smith will line up for the England U20 Six Nations match against Italy.
The game will take place in Italy at Stadio Mario e Romolo Pacifici.
Both Sam and Huw joined OSH in 2007, leaving the school after their A level studies were complete. They continue to play for the Worcester Warriors and have both secured places in the England U20’s.
Huw was a member of Foley House and was also in good company, as amongst the boys that he shared the house with, was his older brother Ed Taylor. Ed went on to play for the Worcester Warriors and England. Huw was also Head of House, demonstrating that he was an excellent role model to his peers.
Sam was a member of Maybury House joining in Year 8. Mr Green, the Housemaster recalls that Sam was a star pupil. When it came to sport he was not an all-rounder. Rugby was always his sport of choice. At school he was a very popular and level headed boy. Upon leaving OSH he was focused on pursuing his rugby career and went on to play for England U16’s, U18’s and U20’s. ‘He was a great role model to all students in the house.’
Andy Coalter – Director of Sport remembers that: ‘Both boys played in the back row of the scrum and were hard working in the classroom and on the field.’
All of the OSH staff and pupils wish the boys best of luck for the game which starts at 18:10.
