Author Visit Inspires Pupils

December 2nd, 2015

Author Tim Hall visited OSH in November to meet pupils and run workshops for Years 8 and 10.  As a former Fleet Street and freelance journalist, Tim was able to offer practical advice on a career in writing.

During lunch break pupils from all years had the opportunity to meet Tim and have their own copies of his debut novel ‘Shadow of the Wolf’ signed in person.

Tim said “This had been a lovely day and I have enjoyed meeting pupils at OSH.  They asked some really insightful questions and I hope I have inspired them to pick up their pens.  OSH is a beautiful school and the pupils very polite.  I haven’t had the opportunity to do many school visits and this has encouraged me to meet more of my young readers”.

School Librarian Jo McGoldrick said “There was great excitement from all years about Tim’s visit.  He de-mystified the process of becoming an author, really encouraging all the boys to believe in their ability to write and giving useful hints and tips on how to start. The ‘meet and greet’ at lunchtime was a great success and we nearly ran out of books.”
