Talented OSH Musicians Compete in National Music Competition

January 21st, 2015

Two talented OSH musicians took part in the District round of the RIBI Young Musician Competition held in the Great Hall in January. Congratulations to Harry Broom (Year 13) cello, runner up, and Jeffrey Lam (Year 12) piano.

The audience was treated to eight excellent solo performances from students in the Dudley area and the winner will now go through to the Regional round. The judging panel comprised the Head of DPA Chris Jones, President of Stourbridge Rotary Club Arthur Baker and CBSO Clarinettist Joanna Parton.

This National Young Musician Competition is a well-established and successful competition promoted by Rotary International in Britain and Ireland and sponsored by Harrods.

It is a four stage national competition designed to support and encourage the development of musical talent.
