To celebrate British Egg Week (6-12 Oct) and World Egg Day (10 Oct), students from 9O took part in ‘The Great Egg Drop’ during Open Morning. This was an Enterprise event in which students had limited resources, 10 lollipop sticks, 15 straws, 2 sheets of A4 paper, 2 elastic bands and a metre of Sellotape, and had to develop something to protect an egg when it was dropped from a height.
The Year 9 students displayed great attitude to learning and were able to show enterprising characteristics, including team work and originality.
The winning team were ‘Eggward’ – Ben Prior and Tom Wiggins, who managed to protect their egg.
On evaluating their morning, teams thought that it was ‘eggcellent’, ‘eggciting’ and thinking of a design ‘scrambled’ their brains.
