Year 7 pupils started their first week at Old Swinford Hospital with a range of induction activities, including a day at Wolf Mountain Indoor Rock Climbing and Caving Centre, a “getting to know you” activity and visits to the Medical centre, Dining Hall and Music department to name but a few. Lessons commenced with PE on Friday afternoon and on Saturday morning, they all set about finding classrooms for their morning lessons!
As part of their induction, Year 9 students were set a team challenge where each House fielded two teams of both new and existing students who competed in 14 events. The finale was the ‘egg drop’ challenge which was won by Witley House.
New Sixth Form students also had a programme of induction activities which included a Fresher’s Fair and Social evening. An enjoyable day of bonding and team-building activities was held at Topbarn Activity Centre where students experienced raft building, kayaking, stand up paddle boards, shooting, archery and team games.
