Students at Old Swinford Hospital have again achieved outstanding results in A Level Examinations. The pass rate was 99% of which just over 60% were at the top grades of A*, A or B.
Over a third (34%) of all grades were A* or A. 9% of all grades were at A*, representing students who achieved over 90% in exams.
Director of Sixth Form, Dr Richard Heaton expressed his delight at the results, “I am extremely proud of this year’s splendid collection of A Level results, which are a tribute to the hard work of pupils and staff alike.
“Our high pass rate and the proportion of top grades are a measure of the high levels of motivation of our students and the strong guidance they receive in their academic studies. These results will see almost all of our students straight off to University, achieving a place at their first choice institution.”
24 students (20%) achieved 3 or more A* or A grades, including the following:
Simon Bill (A*A*A*A*) from Bayton, Cleobury Mortimer will study Medicine at Cambridge
Natasha Rushton (A*AAB) from Rowley Regis will study Law at the University of Bristol
Alastair Smith (A*AAA) from Rowley Regis will study Physics at St Andrew’s
David Kent (A*A*A*) from Stourbridge will study Medicine at Hull York
Justin Yeung (A*A*A) from Solihull will study Chemical Engineering at Imperial College, London
