Sensitive and Musical Performance

April 9th, 2014

Individualists Music Winner 2014 2

Year 13 student Judith Scholes won this year’s Instrumentalists’ Competition for her sensitive and musical performance on the flute.  She played pieces by Poulenc, Faurè and Godard.

The competition is an opportunity for A Level musicians to practice their final recitals in front of a friendly audience and receive advice and adjudication from a visiting expert. The judge this year was former member of staff Kevin Robson, who has been Director of Music at Elmhurst School of Dance for several years.

He praised the eleven students who took part and the level of preparation achieved by them and our accompanists, Mr Cheung, Mr Swindells and Mr Bridgewater.
