Over 100 students and staff were screened by CRY Cardiac Risk in the Young for cardiac abnormalities. The tests which took place in the Medical Centre involved an ECG which records the electrical activity of the heart. The results were then analysed by CRY and anyone who was considered to have an abnormal ECG would have been invited for a full cardiac evaluation. These lifesaving tests can prevent apparently fit and healthy young people dying suddenly from a previously undiagnosed heart condition.
