Apple Tree for Prospect

September 27th, 2013

tree planting re-sized

New year 7 pupils at Old Swinford Hospital were delighted with the gift of an apple tree from local pub, The Chequers Inn.  As pupils progress through the School, they will be able to watch the tree growing outside their junior boarding house Prospect, which has just re-opened after a major refurbishment programme.

Team Leaders Debbie Nixon and Rachelle Hanke performed the planting ceremony on behalf of the Chequers Inn, Stourbridge, who generously donated the Stark Double Delicious Apple tree, which had formed part of a display for a cider festival.  OSH grounds man Adrian Meneer spotted the tree and as a keen horticulturist, got chatting to the staff who kindly offered to give the tree to the School.
