Students at Old Swinford Hospital have once again produced some outstanding performances in their GCSE examinations, particularly three students who were awarded eight grade A*.
The percentage of results awarded at A* to C grades in five or more subjects was 81.11%. The percentage of results awarded at A* to C grades in five or more subject including English and Maths was 71.11%.
Some of the outstanding achievements were:
George Hadfield from Belbroughton achieved 8 grade A* and 2 grade A
Bradley Bush from Redditch achieved 8 grade A* and 2 grade A
Blake Lewis from Stourbridge achieved 8 grade A* and 2 grade A
Sam Russell from Kinver achieved 6 grade A* and 3 grade A
Orlando Chan from Hong Kong achieved 5 grade A* and 4 grade A
Michael Ellis from Stourbridge achieved 5 grade A* and 3 grade A
Commenting on the results, Headmaster Peter Jones said ”We are delighted that in a very tough year, our brightest students have achieved exceptional results, including those who gained eight A*. These results reward a good deal of hard work and dedication from students and staff alike. However, we are disappointed with what appears to be a downward trend nationally.”
