All pupils at OSH spent 15 minutes on literacy during Lesson 2 on 24th April.
ERIC (Everybody Reads in Class) is an initiative devised by the School’s Literacy Working Group to promote all aspects of literacy: reading, writing, speaking and listening – across all the subject areas in School.
In one 15 minute session, A Level English students analysed a newspaper article and then debated whether or not the use of slang enriches the English Language. Each student then had to write an essay developing the argument either for or against the use of slang.
