Two Old Swinford Hospital students had the trip of a lifetime when they travelled to Uganda as part of a church led group. Simon and Dominic Bill had to raise £1,500 for the trip and were grateful to receive a £200 donation from the Old Foleyans’ Association. Their other fundraising activities included a sponsored walk, balloon release, car wash and custard pie throwing.
The brothers were part of a group of seven young adults and four adults who spent a week in Lira, Uganda delivering an Alpha training course to church volunteers.
Commenting on the trip, Simon said “This was a unique experience for both of us. We received a great welcome in Uganda and the people were happy for us to be there working with them. We have gained so much and feel that the whole adventure really put life into perspective.”
