Edward Walker (Head of School) and Harry Browne were delighted to hand over a cheque for £1,500 to the Thomas Pocklington Trust, after competing in their first triathlon.
The Thomas Pocklington Trust offers people who are blind or have sight loss the support they require to lead an independent life, based on their individual requirements. Old Swinford Hospital’s music groups have entertained residents at the Stourbridge Centre on numerous occasions which is greatly appreciated.
On received the donation, Jackie Tromans, Day Opportunity Support Worker at the Thomas Pocklington Trust said “We would like to congratulate and thank Edward and Harry for their outstanding achievement in both completing the triathlon and raising such an incredible of amount of money for our charity.”
“Old Swinford Hospital has supported our day opportunities for some time now with their talented music group, but the triathlon has taken this relationship even further, building on community links and enhancing the lives of people who have a sight loss. The money will be put to good use to improve our sensory garden enabling our service users to enjoy the outside space we have.”
