Students at Old Swinford Hospital have again achieved outstanding results in A Level Examinations. The pass rate was 97.6% of which 60% were at the top grades of A*, A or B.
Three students – Lauren Brain from Kingswinford, James Sheldon from Stourbridge and Leah Foley from Halesowen have confirmed their places at Oxbridge on the strength of their results. Lauren will study Medicine at Cambridge University, James will also go to Cambridge to study Engineering, and Leah will study Biology at Oxford University.
Headmaster, Peter Jones, said “The School is delighted with the excellent results achieved, which continue to reflect the hard work and dedication of both students and staff and the support of parents.”

There were 22 students who achieved 3 or more A* or A’s, including the following who achieved 4 A*s or A grades:
Joel Kendrick from Stourbridge will go to Warwick University to study Maths
Andrew Green from Kingswinford will study Maths & Physics at Bath
April Diviney from Stourbridge will go to Trinity College Dublin to study Medicine
Alex Harrold from Oldbury who achieved 4 A*s and an A will be embarking on a Physics Research Project at Birmingham University during his Gap year.
